Summer Camp

Summer Camp 2006

The Troop will attend Summer Camp at Camp Hale in Oklahoma.  Camp Hale is a nationally known camp.  Several troops from Lake Jackson have attended Camp Hale in the past and all speak highly of it.  At least one troop is returning to Camp Hale this year after attending last year.

1. It is close enough that we can drive there in a day.

2. Total cost is $195 (unless special programs are chosen)

3. It is very early in the summer.

Camp dates are May 28 through June 3

 Mr. Edens is the adult in charge and should be contacted with any questions.

Anyone interested in attending Summer Camp with the Troop must notify Mr. Edens and pay their full fees by Mar. 27.

MERIT BADGES

It will be necessary to pre-register for Merit Badges and other classes.  Please look over the list of merit badges being offered and prepare to register.  Registration material will be available shortly.

NEW SCOUT PROGRAM

There will be a new scout program which will aim to complete many of the Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, and 1st Class requirements.  This program is recommended for first year campers.

Please read below concerning Physical Exams:

All scouts attending camp must complete a Physical Exam.  Class 1 and Class 2 physical exam are needed by scouts attending Base Camp (merit badges and First Year Camper program).  The Class 1 form is a health history and must be completed YEARLY by parents.  Please note EXACT DATES are needed for vaccination information. The Class 2 form must be filled out by a doctor.  This form is good for 3 years so if you have one less than 3 years old, you do not have the see the doctor again.   Scouts participating in Sailing or SCUBA must have a Class 3 form completed YEARLY by a doctor.   All Adults (no matter how old) must have a Class 3 physical.  Go the "Links" tab on this site, and click on the Bay Area Council link.  Once there, click on "Files and Forms".  Now download a copy of the Class 1 form.   This document also has the Class 2 form attached.  A Class 3 form is also available at this web site.
